Clinician

Welcome! I’m Jen, a pre-licensed clinical social worker with a passion for helping adults navigate life’s challenges. My approach is a holistic one, grounded in empathy, compassion, and a profound respect for each person’s unique journey and life experiences.

I have had the privilege to work with many clients, each with their own stories and experiences, while focusing on adults in the “sandwich generation”, struggling with caregiving for their parents and children. I have experience with aging, caregiving, life transitions, depression and anxiety, illness and disability, dementia and dementia related caregiving stressors, death and dying, care/resource planning, ambiguous loss, anticipatory grief, trauma, and relationship/ conflict resolution.

I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. My goal is to empower individuals to find their own inner strength and resilience, guiding them towards a path of acceptance and healing.

In my practice I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Positive Psychology. I aim to work collaboratively with my clients to create person centered treatment plans that align with their goals and values.

Included in my professional work, I work closely with organizations such as Insight Memory Care Center, facilitate support groups in several older adult communities, and serve on the Advisory Board for Fairfax Village in the City as a subject matter expert on Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work from GMU.

If you are seeking support, I would be honored to work with you on your journey. Together we can explore the challenges you are facing and work together to find the tools and strategies that help you cope with life’s stressors and lead a more fulfilling and balanced life.
